Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
Created: 01/05/10
As me and my brother sat here discussing how to review this game we could not decide where to start other than; Army Men: Sarge's Heroes is an awesome game. Apart from being a good shooter for the N64, the plastic army men made the game irresistible. The little green, tan, gray, and blue men were so much fun, especially melting them!
The game offered a great campaign mode with a good/comical story of Green and Tan battling in their world and in another dimension (ours). Apart from Sarge their was a host of friends to battle with against the tan army and many different weapons to use; from flamethrowers, M16s, and bazookas! While the campaign was great fun the multiplayer was the real jewel providing endless hours of enjoyment as you battle your friends in various maps.
Of course reflecting on this game their are a few problems to a new player, mostly due to the N64's one joystick controller. The one stick when I was younger seemed to be no problem but after playing PS2/PS3 for so long and becoming accustomed to two analog sticks moving back to one is a real challenge! Another thing to overcome for myself would be the clipping that tended to plague games until fairly recently (and is still somewhat of an issue). Apart from these two issues there is really no problem with the game and the only bugs are rather humorous (such as if a grenade hits and enemy directly prior to explosion it will kill them) and the game is still overall and excellent experience and a good buy, there are many other Army Men games out there, but sadly 3DO no longer exists.

I decided to buy this game as my two boys 12 and 11 were interested in it. I still had my Nintendo 64 system, but had not purchsed many games for it before we went to the PS2 system. The boys were interested in it due to the fact that the plotline involves plastic army men - they wanted to see what the scenerio's would be. I had rented it one time several years ago and enjoyed it already then. It was as much fun as I remember! The kids like it because it has a pre-technology feel to it - back when games were a little more basic and the graphics not as realistic.

I bought it for my godson. He loves this game but had lost or ruined his last one. I purchased this one used, and am completely satisfied with it. There is violence in it, but he is old enough to understand. A good game for young teens or teens.

Army Men: Sarge's Heroes (Nintendo 64)

I have had the game now for about a month. Army men is a great game. One of the better games to come out for Nintendo 64. Hey what can I say, sniper rifles, grenades and rocket launchers! What could be better?
The game follows a somewhat cheasy plot but the game action makes up for the lack for the lacking theme.
