If you want a great laptop, save up and buy a MacBook Pro!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I love my MBP. I had been using an older first gen MacBook for a while now and it was a good computer, but this thing is a BEAST. I removed the optical drive and installed a SSD for the boot drive and upped the ram to 16 gigs and it is everything I ever wanted in a computer. It's fast, it runs Mac and Windows 7 beautifully, its sexy, has a good battery, it's built better than any Windows competitors. To get the same quality of computer in a Windows machine you would have to spend more, and yes I mean more. Sure windows computers can be bought for less but you don't get nearly as good of computer, and to get one better than the MBP you have to buy a fancy gaming laptop. I have been a long time Mac and PC user and the quality of PCs has always been their weak point. So unless you build them yourself you are going to have problems. A lot of people are buying Macs just to run Windows because the hardware is better and Mac OS X is a better operating system for basic tasks such as email, media, browsing etc. So when you run both you get the best of both worlds!

Exellent equipment overall!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pros:
• Excellent boot speed
• Solid & refined casing
• Keyboard keeps debris out perfectly
• Fast processing with multiple heavy applications
open at once.

Cons:
• Standard reflective screen makes glare a problem at times
• Will heat up greatly if sat on certain materials (cloth)
• Suffered a crashed HD only 3 months in. Recommend on
sleeping or powering off the computer wait FULLY until system
powers completely down or off (No Sound or vibration) before
moving the system.
• USB Ports are located on the left side only. Corded Apple
mice have short cords that make right hand wired mouse
operation unreasonable.

All in all It's a well built machine that should satisfy most people&a

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought a highly customized model with 16GB, an SSD and a matte screen so my reviews pertains to this configuration not the basic model.

Since I always have it plugged it, I'm not using the battery...

This was my first APPLE product ever...

Still learning the keyboard and the GUI. Overall I like the responsiveness. It wakes up quite nicely and seems to be well built. Software runs without hiccups, but I haven't really loaded any heavy duty programs yet.

The screen resolution is excellent and the colors are spot on matching my desktop color palette. Unlike my PC laptop which over saturates certain colors, the pictures really pop. Sharpness is excellent from any angle.

Very quiet and unobtrusive. Most of the time I can't hear the fan..

Only negatives:
Wish it had more USB ports.

I know this was a $2k machine when it came out and that was the basic model. 3 years later it's a bargain for $1,000..

If you can find a souped up machine of this caliber, I definitely recommend it. All in all, It's a well built machine that should satisfy most people's needs...

This is one heck of a machine. There aren't many people who need more.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought the Macbook Pro for school and for Video/Audio Editing as well as telecommuting with my Job. It works Great!! I love the large display and the high speeds of the SSD. I opened Illustrator, Photoshop, Chrome, iTunes, and Blender (3D modeling) and It maintained it's speed very well. No need for upgrades here, this thing is quick. Only downside is that it isn't upgradable past 8G of ram because it is the glossy screen version. The matte screen version is more upgradable in that area. But the glass screen is much more robust than the matte one. I've had to replace the aluminum screen bezel on my old macbook air several times and my LCD once due to impact, but the glass screens are much more rigid and are less susceptible to bending or breaking.

Pros:
Speed
Ease of Use
aesthetically pleasing
Display is Gorgeous
Thunderbolt (Ultra fast!)
Wifi Card is much quicker than the old ones
Apple Care is definitely a must (very helpful)

Cons:
Can't upgrade past 8G (not that you'd need to anyways)
Battery life drains pretty quickly if you're using apps or the CD tray

Once you MAC you never go BACK!! BUY IT, YOU won't regret it!!!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I have been a MAC user for a long time. I own an iMac and a Macbook Pro.
Apple products are honestly made of top quality materials and they always last way longer than Windows. Macs have the fastest responding time and are very user friendly. Whatever you need is just one click away. The touchpad is really smart, too. Although there are many people say Mac is bad and expensive for no reason, it's because most of them have not used one for a while. You can use a mac for a long time without needing to restart it or shut it down. Also over the past years that I have been using Mac neither on my macbook pro and iMac it has crashed. I know it is more expensive than Windows, but it honestly pays for itself. Don't be afraid and invest your money on something that will hold its value for a long time and you don't have to be afraid of any crashes or anything. If you still need to use windows, you can have windows on it too! so there are no other excuses ;)
But seriously a mac will keeps its value always high. You can still sell a 6 year old macbook more expensive than a windows laptop that you but today!!
Just buy it, I guarantee you won't regret it. Don't listen to windows lovers, because they are yet to experience MAC!!!
