Overall this laptop's performance was excellent. Sound from the built-in speakers was inadequate for all but the simplest use.
This laptop is a great choice for traveling. At 6.25 hours, battery life was very long, just about enough for a full day's work or more. At 2.5 pounds, this is lightweight for a laptop this size.
The keyboard, touchpad, labeling, and LED indicators were all well-designed, making it comfortable and convenient to use. The full-sized keyboard was pleasant to type on. The keyboard was lighted. The touchpad supports use of multiple-finger gestures to zoom and scroll. The touchpad is well positioned on the keyboard, so it's easy to reach and not prone to interference from arms or wrists.
The display quality was very good overall. Colors were in the ballpark, though not completely accurate. The laptop's display was brighter than most and it's anti-reflective, a plus for viewing in a brightly lit room or outdoors. The display has a wide viewing angle, especially important if more than one person needs to see the screen at a time, say, for a video or presentation.
Useful features and attributes on this model include: There's a 64GB solid-state hard drive, which uses less power and accesses data more quickly. Gigabit Ethernet provides fast transfer of data over a local network.
Downsides: There's no optical drive like a CD or DVD reader, so you'll have to buy an external drive if you need one. There are no ExpressCard slots for adding Wi-Fi or TV tuners. There is no memory-card reader, so you'll need to buy an external reader or connect your digital camera directly to this laptop to transfer photos. The battery is not easily removable.

I sold my MacBook Pro on eBay and still think that the Pro is a superior model in battery life and available storage, but this MacBook Air fits all of my needs in a tiny package. I'm glad I purchased it, and I don't regret that I replaced my Pro with the Air!

This is the best laptop I have ever purchased! It is super thin and light. The processor speed is very quick on this bad boy. Supports a lot of great hand gestures. Battery lasts very long. Sleek design and fun to use!
