The Apple MacBook Series has been around for the past several years. I have used the machines when they were first introduced on the market. This is the first edition Uni-Body MacBook. It is exactly the same as the current generation MacBook Pro except for the fact that the screen size is 13''. The nice thing about this MacBook vs. the newest uni-body model MacBook today is you are able to access the undercover of the MacBook and replace the hard drive, battery if necessary, and memory.
The Apple MacBook Machine is powerful, fast, elegant, and can handle everything that you throw at it. The machine has a cutting edge processor, great hard drive space, excellent RAM performance, built-in wireless and bluetooth, as well as a DVD Burner. The MacBook Series also comes with Apple's built-in WebCam called iSight. This allows for video conferencing through AIM, Skype, or just augmented picture taking fun. The battery life on this model is extremely long between four and seven hours depending on screen brightness and other system related software that are running.
The software that comes on the machine is Apple's OS X. The system is extremely stable and the auto-update feature is great as it alerts you when new updates are available for your Apple System. In addition, a software suite called iLife which includes iMove (to create movies), iDVD (to make DVD discs), iWeb (Create Custom Websites that can be published on the Apple MobileME Service), and iPhoto (to edit and catalog / view photos) standard with every Apple Computer you purchase. Each of these program run very well and can help any home user create professional looking media.
Please note that one application suite that the Macintosh does not come with is the Microsoft Office 2008 Suite. It does not have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Entourage Standard. You must purchase this suite from Apple as an add-on, Microsoft, Staples, or any other retailer who sells the software.
Overall, when the next generation Apple MacBook comes out I would most likely purchase the computer again. The machine has a great design, easily gets through any tasks such as Internet Browser, making a Hollywood Movie, Office Productivity, and much much more. On the side of the unit it has ample USB ports, monitor out, audio out, and ethernet. The machine is thin and light weight and the all-in-one design is great. However, should the machine fall or crack due to the uni-body design the whole base would have to be replaced in turn costing a lot of money.
I would recommend an Apple Computer to anyone the Virus Free Unix Based Platform is strong, reliable, and easy to use. You cannot go wrong purchasing one of these machines and on top of that you can even run Windows or Linux on them through boot-camp, VMware Fusion, or Parallels. The premium on price is definitely worth the money. This series MacBook comes in 2.0 GHz and 2.4 GHz and both models are great. The faster one will help you make the movie faster and offer you a larger hard drive.
Once you have your Mac you will not go back to PC - enjoy the simple life.

I love this MacBook. Although it's the older model from 2008/2009, it performs just as quickly and fluidly as newer ones. The display is fantastic, and the unibody is nice and sturdy. I chose this model, since the NVIDIA graphics processor isn't too old, and the unibody is the same as the MacBook Pro's. I'm not too fond of the MacBook's with the polycarbonate unibody, since it scratches very easily. Besides that, it holds the Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 2GHz, which is pretty good even for today's standards. Also, I've always loved the battery life on the mac's, since most laptops can barely hold a charge over 2 hours.
My actual rating would probably be closer to 4.5 heres why....
Size/Weight: This 13.3 Macbook is made out of all aluminum making it much lighter than all models previous to this. However it is still a bit heavier than the new macbook pro's. Its probably right on par with the 15 inch weight. Very easy to take to school or use on the metro/bus.
Battery Life: It's really tough to rate the battery because I bought this computer used on Ebay so I am sure it was not been replaced in the 3-4 years old it is. All in all it's really not bad at all. I have classes for 4.5 hours strait without getting a chance to recharge. It holds up fine for what I am using it for (taking notes in pages, small amounts of internet useage, no videos or music being used).
Performance: I upgraded the RAM in this to 4GB however it can hold up to 8 (although apple only verifies it can hold 6 GB). I somewhat wish I would have done 6 GB but it still does a great job handling the overall usage. I don't download any videos on this computer. Sometimes I do put songs on here. Right now I have about 475 songs. Get an external hard drive for that other stuff you'll thank yourself. Processor handles all of my applications just fine.
Value for the Money: GREAT! I would much rather have this macbook over the newer ones. I found this for $525 of EBay. Compared to at least $1000 for a newer model. You can find a lot of speed comparisons between this model and the new MacBook Pros. It's not that huge and while using the computer you would never notice as compared to a brand new windows PC.
This is my 7th laptop and 3rd Macbook. This is the best one I've ever owned. Very sleek design and lightweight. Built in iSight cam is great and glass trackpad is awesome. Battery life on this is better than any of the laptops I've owned. I only wished this model has backlight keyboard as the late 2008 model didn't come with this unless you opted for an higher-end model. But all in all, great laptop. And it's a Mac.
Never had an Apple tech before. So I`ve bought one to try. When the item was unpacked I`ve been shocked a bit. The first thought was - "It`s a brand new bloody laptop". Although It`s been used - laptop looked like a new one. After turning on I was shocked again - the screen was clear and bright. Then the tune-up begun. It was fast and easy. There were no Russian symbols on the keyboard, but even this was not a problem (I`ve never thought, that I`d use "blind-typing). When I`ve started using touchpad, I`ve thought "O, that`s crap! Why that`s is acting so weirdly?", but reading about gestures and other stuff, I`ve realy liked it. This thing is much better than my "old buddy" Dell Inspiron 1501 (Bigger screen, much more weight, almost new battery life is shorter), It`s much better than my Acer AOD250, although MacBook weighs more and less battery life. And none of my old laptops have an alluminium shell.
