After this autumn Apple show' where were introduced new minis without discrete graphics I decided to buy previous generation. In a month it came by post to Russia, and was connected to Samsung LED TV via hdmi port. Here in Russia price on this model is 32990 roubles = $1050!! Great economy to buy it at Ebay!
I used to play CoD4, and mini works great in this game at full presets. All films in mkv or m2ts showed without interruptions and smoothly.
This is great device in a so small case!
This is a powerful little machine. I am using it for my TV entertainment setup. I was reluctant at first to pay extra for the MacMini,2 because on paper it only looked like a minor difference in processor speed and I was planning on updating the ram anyway. The main decision to go with this one over the other options was solely about the graphics card. Even the top end "server" model has shared memory for the graphics, while this mid level one has dedicated memory for the graphics. It was a good choice. My flagship model Samsung LED TV will pick up on even the slightest variance in graphics quality and this MacMini makes it look great.
Blazing fast, compact and affordable, only miss in my book is no optical drive but the $69 dollar one apple offer works well so no problem.
I replaced a MacBook Pro that my daughter spilled water on and sleep better knowing that cannot happen again....with it in the closet and all
With money being tight I had to find an economical replacement for my 2007 iMac. I already had an external monitor because the LCD in the iMac had gone dead.
I took a chance on this model because it is one of the few mac minis with a dedicated graphics card. It also can use 16 gigs of RAM.
While it probably doesn't come close to competing with iMacs of the last few years it is definitely a big step up from the 2007 model.
After disappointing PC experiences, I went back to my Mac roots & got the Mac Mini I5. Kind of like an Ipad on steroids, it's a powerful little computer with an OS you'll want to take time to know & make your friend. No cd/dvd drive but that's where things are headed, all can be downloaded. One look at that home screen & you're hooked, great graphics! Only issue is nothing is included, not even a mouse. That's to keep the box nice & small. I do believe Apple will eventually eliminate the mouse!
