I switched from PC to Mac on this Mac Mini. I really enjoy this computer. The operating system is really simple and it just works. No gimmicks. The hardware is solid: it's not the fastest machine out there, but it does a lot more than its spec's would lead you to believe. I can edit photos with out any problems. Next, I plan to buy a consumer level solid modeling program. For that, I will upgrade to 8 gig of ram.
I don't see switching back to windows in my future. As long as the creative, meticulous minds at Apple keep cranking out hardware and software like this (sans Jobs), I will keep using it.
This little unit is unbelievable in performance and quality.
Faster processing; I would recommend this unit for the typical user, but would suggest that if you need to upgrade the ram memory; well purchase it from OCW. Apples 8gb up-grade runs you over 400.00.
OCW's is 49.99 and it's easy to install yourself; they even have 12 and 16 gb matched pairs
first mac I've ever owned. This thing is a little monster!! runs apps no problem i do a lot of penny stocks. i like to check up on charts and statistic on companies i am investing on and i like to look at them all at once, i have about 6 displays in my home office to view them. My pc couldn't withstand the pressure of having all these browsers opened but the mac mini with the small amount of ram it has display no lack of performance. each browser i have up runs smooth with no hick ups or delays. best little machine for the price!!
sooo happy i have one
If there was ever a need for a 10 star rating, this is it! Hands down the best purchase (computer wise) I've ever made. Compact, versatile and plenty of everything. If you're looking for a change from the competition, look no further. Smooth all-around performance!
We became Apple users when we bought a mac mini in 2005 as the family's 2nd computer and between the PC & the mac, 4 out of 5 family members went for the mac. Eventually, my eldest daughter got a mac book for herself & the mac mini got handed down to our youngest. The PC was long gone when the mac mini finally gave up last year so we had to replace it with a more recent model and I did not think twice about getting another mac mini because of its proven build quality and ease of use. We are looking forward to using it for many years to come.
