For the price, I'd have to say this is a pretty tough and capable little computer. If Apple would make a cheaper desktop macpro, then I wouldnt be forced to buy this, but you wouldn't believe the stuff I'm doing on it. The newer ones are definitely stronger than the ones from 4-5 years ago, although those are fine for word processing, the net, and most non-pro level tasks. THe only thing these minis might have a problem with is RAM capacity, which can be a hang up. Plus, they're not the fastest renderers out there. That's what you pay the big bucks for. However, if you buy it used, you may not be able to register the server software.
I love the small form factor, the quiet operation, and the ease of use. OVerall, for a smal business I highly recommend the "little server that could"!
Love the Mac Mini the only things I would like from it is HDMI out which the new Mac Minis have, and optical out. All and all this is a great server OSX server is great.
I needed a server to do things on. This will be used for encoding, iTunes, and web serving. So far everything is working great and I really enjoy my Apple.
