| Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 PC classic, the all-new Aliens vs. Predator allows players to take the role of three infamous species: Colonial Marines, Predators and Aliens. The game features a unique three-way online multiplayer experience, allowing gamers to battle for survival and the right to be crowned the deadliest species in the galaxy. Each race will also have its own distinct action-packed single-player campaign mode, with a storyline that cleverly interweaves with the other two species' paths. Set on planet BG-386; a human colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the galaxy, a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs. Deep inside the ruined pyramid meanwhile, nature's deadliest species awakes from centuries of hibernation intent on finding new prey. | |

There are few things more satisfying than getting a trophy kill as a Predator or an Alien. The graphics are pretty good, the gameplay is ok, not good though. The story is short, and to be honest, I couldn't care less about it. The characters suck. I really don't have sympathy for them. As an Alien, the campaign was the most bare-boned. Go here, kill here, Go there... Not much going on.
As a Predator, at least there is a reason given as to why they are there and found those parts to be very interesting.
As a marine, I didn't feel weak at any time. You have unlimited flares, ammo isn't scarce, and all weapons have secondary capabilities that are really useful against your foes.
As far as gameplay, there's too much emphasis on melee attacks. It's too useful as a marine, as an Alien, not strong or quick enough, and as a Predator, I guess it's just right. The predator jump mechanics work well enough, unfortunately it has limited range and it only works on certain surfaces.
Maps are recycled throughout so expect environment boredom. Music is generic. I felt especially annoyed by this because why is there scary tense music when I am the Alien. I am fear, I shouldn't fear anything. Why is the music trying to make me afraid? Same with Predator, the music was mismatched.
Throughout the game, I felt like Rebellion was under a really tight budget. All the generic soldiers, have the same voice actor. They say the same damn thing, "Don't relax just yet, Marines." The AI sucks.
There are 2 maps for survivor, nothing really to come back to. DLC I assume sucks, multiplayer is available but no one plays so it's a waste of game. Each level has a point system, so this is a good incentive to keep playing but that's just about it.
With so much cons, Why just a 3 and not lower? Well, I'm a fan of the series and this is much better than the movies. Most of these are just gripes I have and the game is really enjoyable, just don't expect GOTY, or anything groundbreaking.
Being an avid fan of the alien movies(first three especially), I jumped at the chance to play the original game version back in 2002. I was hooked on the first version of the game and played it until finishing it two weeks later. This version of the game has far better graphics and a story line that revolves around the AVP movie's plotline. Rebellion (the makers of the game), made this version much more violent than the prior version, with the Predators decapitation move, among other actions. I found the Marines storyline to be quite white knuckling and intense especially when the motion tracker picks up non friendlies. GET THIS GAME IF YOU’RE A FAN AND NOT FAINT OF HEART.
Why Purchase?: I purchased the game simply because I am a casual gamer. Bored with the games currently, this game was just to pass some time. Needed something simple but fun to play.
Like/Dislike: What stood out was the 3 campagins; campagins are enjoyable and the multiplayer adds a nice touch to the game. The controls are easy to learn(May vary in multiplayer)and have a unique play style both online and offline. Note too many first person shooters have a blocking system to protect yourself in battle with close ranged enemies.

The features 3 campaigns(Can switch campaigns at any time to see how the stories cross). The Campaigns a nice variation with simple controls. Nothing to be impressed by, but something that a gamer could find fun in.
More details:
Multiplayer: Fun and can be fast paced. Although as of 2013 gamers still play the multiplayer(very small community),but individuals that have purchased the game will have to settle for quick matches and hope for the best. Multiplayer is fun but better when played with friends.
Overall: The game is okay, this type of game will either appeal to fans or casual gamers that just need somthing to play. The game overall has fun moments. Unfortunately finding other players in game for the multiplayer may be tricky(As of 2013).
Singleplayer is too short but the graphics are great, they did some sweet lighting. Multiplayer is fun, the leveling up is nice.
Marine campaign is a remake of the second avp for pc, kinda lame.
ONLY TWO BLOODY MAPS FOR SINGLEPLAYER SURVIVAL!!
Preds, the cloak once again deactivates when u use certain weapons, unlike the movies. -_- Campaign makes me feel like such a badass tho. :3
Alien campaign is SWEET! Your character is different, special, extra badass. AWESOME ending for the story.
Sequel to one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time. Your typical shooter, fast paced, relatively mindless, but still entertaining. Again multiplayer is where it shines as you and a bunch of close friends can beat on each other for hours while alternately laughing and jumping from an unexpected attack. The single player story mode is a little hard to follow as you play each race their stories intertwine, and it would be nice to see a linear story where you jump races at the perfect time in the story. Overall very fun and great multiplayer just like the original.
