Amazing movie . . . yah, yah, yah it's a cartoon, CGI (computer generated image) movie, but the lighting, shadows and all are pretty darn good. The story is action packed and fast moving . . . and the reason these movies exist is to tell a story with action that you just can't do with human actors. In fact, that's why so much of the movies we see today all have some kind of CGI to go along with the humans. Star Trek would be a big zero without CGI.
A very enjoyable experience. I got the move from an eBay auction and my wife played it on the tour bus for her marching band's tour to Fresno State for a music clinic and then on to Yosemite National Park to stay at the Camp Curry Village tent cabins. Truly a marvelous excursion and event with a bus ride made much more enjoyable and bearable with TINTIN!
great movie! i bought it for our grandchildren aged 3 to 7, thinking it would be fluffy and nice and cute... at first, when we viewed it with them, i was a bit stunned at the "adult-ness" of the presentation, the multileveled character of the script and animation, i wondered if we should shut it down. at some points, interestingly, the older two children would hide behind the couch, but when we suggested we'd shut it off, they begged us not to.... it was the 3 year old who wouldn't budge! he ate it up! i found myself wondering why these reactions.... i've concluded that the kids felt the challenge of the presentation, somehow knew it wasn't a "playing down to them" movie, and they saw realism despite the animated nature of the piece. it's awfully well done, and i followed up by purchasing a reading version (not graphic novel...) for the eldest child. she grabbed it and dove into it without skipping a beat. she could hardly wait to read the next adventure. the parents, who are very careful what the children watch, also loved the DVD. i think it will also be viewable for years to come.... would recommend, but pre-watch it first, if you're doubtful... it worked awfully well for us!
TinTin is a stunning movie that will floor you. You will be amazed at the detail. You will think to yourself..."Avatar might have lost Best Picture to TinTin. This is not like any animated movie you have seen before. It is so life like. Incredibly sophisticated. Jam packed with a background world as beautiful as what you are watching in the forefront. One other 3D movie comes to mind that totally made me grin ear to ear...Avatar. Avatar is completely different when it comes to story but identical when it comes to being amazed by what you are watching. Now when it comes to TinTin, I have to say that I've never seen this kind of 3D movie. James Cameron himself could not do better. Sorry James...I see you...anyway, Spielberg blew me away with this new kind of animated feature. I loved it! You will love it! It's meant for adults or teens but not for little children. There is violence and people get killed. It is also funny! I will never part with my TinTin 3D Blu-ray. One more thing, if anyone else thinks that TinTin's movie intro is strange, boring, bland, confusing...or just fine, mention your thoughts when you do your review too. TinTin is a MUST HAVE.
Entertainment the whole family can enjoy! Lots of action, great graphics, compelling story.
I enjoyed it very much... and I liked how the bad guy resembled Steven Spielberg... made me laugh.
You can see this one with the kids. Pure entertainment.
I was surprised at how good a film it was. ARG, it's hardy entertainment matey.
Cheers and Blessings, Max Rainet.

Excellent 3D movie no doubt. What a collaboration between Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg. The story is really brought to life by 3D and the effects are so lifelike that you feel like you're watching real people, real landscapes and immerse the audience with so much anticipation for the next scene. You will watch it over and over again. For me, I can't wait for the sequel of The Adventures of Tintin movie. Highly recommended for you 3D fans.
