About the Manufacturer
Like any golfer, Adams Golf believes the problem isn't in the swing, it's in the clubs. The company’s founder is a man named Barney Adams who started Adams Golf in 1987. Mr. Adams had built a career in golf manufacturing as a component supplier and contract manufacturer. He benefited tremendously from his experience custom-fitting golfers, and used those opportunities to observe the effect a variety of materials and head designs had on golfer’s performance. Applying the lessons learned in that process, Adams developed and introduced the Tight Lies fairway wood. Tight Lies had what has become known as an “upside down” head design. This innovative design became somewhat of a phenomenon in golf and still enjoys tremendous customer loyalty. (7 years after it’s introduction hundreds of thousands of golfers still have Tight Lies in their bags.) Adams product line is by no means limited to Tight Lies fairway woods, as the company produces and sells a full range of product including drivers, wedges, putters, hybrid irons and more. ) Ok, lets face it--these clubs have a face only a mother could love. They are plain, battle-ship gray, and kinda weird looking--oh yeah, and they hit the ball like nobody's business! Adams started something with these clubs. They are practically giving them away on eBay now, because there are lots of shinier new toys to play with ... but odd how, with 5 bags full of clubs, I keep pulling out my ugly little Adams again and again, and even assembled a set to keep in my car for impromptu golf (not much of a loss $-wise if they get stolen). Swing easy, and they hit the ball FOR you. I am a mid-handicapper (80's), with an average swing speed. Tee them down very low for par 3's or tight fairways, or from anywhere else .... and they are a cure for the fairway blues ..... Lets put it this way--if I had to suggest a fairway wood for a beginner golfer, the Adams original Tight Lies would be it. The 3 wood (13*) hits the ball so far, so straight, so easy, I think about 70% of beginning golfers would hit this waaaay better than their driver. So grab a few of these pathetic looking little beasties for a song on eBay and beat the socks off your Callaway swinging friends!

I like the feel and weighting of this club. I am able to get the ball up quickly whether I'm hitting it off the tee or out of the rough. I might change the graphite shaft to steel in time but the "firm" flex of the graphite works well with my swing speed.
I purchased this club because I have a Tight Lies Air Assualt 3 wood and 9 degree driver. I like the setup of these clubs at address, very clean and classic looking. I also like the sound they make, similar to an iron. They sound and feel very solid when hit properly which is easy to do thanks to the low center and balanced weighting. I like how they sound like an iron when hit rather than a normal "metal wood" that has a chime noise.
I would recommend these woods to all my buddies. I think they are great clubs.

Tight Lies Fairway Woods (Adams)

) I've had the original Tight Lies 3 wood for years. I had the opportunity to purchase a 4 and 5 wood through e-bay, so I bid on them.
The Adams clubs are the best that I have ever used. They reach down in bad lies and pick the ball up and send it where you want it to go. They may not be the prettiest clubs at the course, but your score will get better, and I've never seen a block on the score card for "club appearance."
If you normally play in the fairway, or on the short grass, they will still improve your game as they are very true hitting clubs. Their design causes the club to follow the swing path more accurately, making the clubhead contact with the ball truer. It will send the ball where you're aiming.

The perfect 3 wood

) The ADAMS Tight Lies fairway woods are one of the most forgiving clubs I have ever hit. They work great off the tee, fairway and even the rough. I would recommend these clubs to any beginner or person with a slower swing speed. You can pick these up for a low price. They get the ball up in the air fast and land nice and soft. I think the design of the sole of the club is what makes it work so well. Try one and I am sure you will be very pleased.
just what I was looking for

) After playing a few tight courses lately, I really felt the need to replace my old fairway woods. I shoot in the low to mid 80's, and I usually use a hybrid 3 iron for second shots on the par 5's, or long par 3's, but wanted to put a 3 wood back in the bag for those tough tee boxes. The Tight Lies was very reasonably priced (about a quarter of what some of the newer ones cost, since I bought it used) and once I remembered that you're supposed to swing easy with this club, hit it great anytime. A fabulous club for the money, to be sure - I don't use it a lot, but it's there at the ready when I need it.
