    About the Manufacturer
Like any golfer, Adams Golf believes the problem isn't in the swing, it's in the clubs. The company’s founder is a man named Barney Adams who started Adams Golf in 1987. Mr. Adams had built a career in golf manufacturing as a component supplier and contract manufacturer. He benefited tremendously from his experience custom-fitting golfers, and used those opportunities to observe the effect a variety of materials and head designs had on golfer’s performance. Applying the lessons learned in that process, Adams developed and introduced the Tight Lies fairway wood. Tight Lies had what has become known as an “upside down” head design. This innovative design became somewhat of a phenomenon in golf and still enjoys tremendous customer loyalty. (7 years after it’s introduction hundreds of thousands of golfers still have Tight Lies in their bags.) Adams product line is by no means limited to Tight Lies fairway woods, as the company produces and sells a full range of product including drivers, wedges, putters, hybrid irons and more. In addition to endorsing its products, pro golfer Tom Watson assists in design and testing.

    Adams Idea Tech OS

    Created: 05/27/07
I purchased a set of Adams Idea Tech OS irons in Feb 2007. So I have had a few months to check them out and give them a good evaluation.

First a little about me to make this an honest report.

I am a (or should I say I was a) 20 handicapper. I have been playing for around 2 years 1 to 2 rounds a week. I have played with many off brand clubs and even moved up to Wilson Fat Shaft IIIs. I could never get below the 90 mark on the score card.

But now with the Adams OS Techs, I am shooting consistently in the mid to lower 80s. These clubs are as close to magic wands as you can get for a high handicap semi beginner. The progression between clubs is almost seamless 10 to 15 yard difference between clubs. This makes it so much easier to decide which club to hit next resulting in lower scores. I have never heard others say "Nice Shot" to me so many times in a round as they have since I moved to this quality set. I have been told you cant shape shots with these clubs and I have to disagree. It's not as easy as with forged blades... But it can be done. But you wont skull or blade the ball as often either. But where these clubs shine is if you want to hit the ball straight down the gut these clubs will not let you down. They produce a high soft landing flight and are so easy to hit that I have taken all of my fairway woods out of my bag. Sometimes when I hit a long 7 iron shot and it lands on the green and only rolls about 2 feet before stopping... I swear I feel like I am cheating... I am no longer afraid to go for it over water and sand traps or even trees. You will hardly ever see me do a lay up any more for fear of making it over a small green side stream. I used to go to the course with a lot of anxiety because the folks I play with have many years on me on the links. Now I step up to my 2nd shot with confidence knowing pretty much where my next shot will be coming from (instead of hoping to find the ball after the swing). It took some adjusting to get a feel for these clubs since there are 4 hybrids. But once you get past the visualization of the club and ball and the feel of a soft impact... The rest comes easy.
I have played with my friends Callaway Big Bertha 2006 irons and these are "in my opinion" nicer feeling and softer landing. Even though both sets are pretty much equal as game improvement irons. When I made a 170 yard 4 iron shot onto a small hill top (plateau) green from down in a vally "And actually ment to do it" I was 2 feet away from the pin and made my first eagle ever. I can honestly say I never would have tried that with my Fat Shafts. I would have laid up and at best hoped for a rare par. My days of being satisfied with bogy golf are over. Yes I still get bogeys but I have gone up from 3 pars on a good day to 7 or 8. I cant wait till someone auctions the sand and lob wedges that match this set on ebay... I'll be there with paypal password in hand. I have arthritis in my hands and since there is no shock when hitting using these clubs I am finally able to say... Anyone up for a 2nd round?

Ok now for what I dislike about the clubs. I have a hard time hitting them from hard ground (there is a lot of hard ground on the fairways I play in Texas) There seems to be too much bounce and you have to actually scoop the ball up because there is no way you can take a divot from hard packed earth with little or no grass. But then again I had that problem with every set I have ever played so I cant say it's entirely the clubs.

Being a club maker (not a cut and glue guy) I bought these clubs @ a good price so that I could break them down and rebuild them to my specs ie: length, grip, flo, frequecy match and progressive swingweighting.I know that this is beyond most of the golfer that buy this product. But what lead me to the Adams Idea Tech OS is the LOOK and we all know that golf is so optical if we do not like what we see we will never hit the clubs. Never having had Hybrid clubs before this was a great choice for me to try these clubs before I spend a lot of time and money on new technology/game improvement clubs. Before I started to tweak my clubs I put two in my bag for a couple of rounds and by the way they hit pretty well straight out of the box. My next set of Adams I will probably Leave them alone(other than the grip)sorry Adams I can't help it. Now if I could only sink those dang 4 footers.

as a 55 year old 8 handicapper I find the Adams Ideas OS line of hybrids by far the easiest to hit. They are designed to do one thing: hit it HIGH and STRAIGHT, and they do this extremely well. Goodbye 3 and 4 irons!

I really like this club. It has added strength and accuracy to my bag. I'd recommend it if you hit your blade irons poorly. This will step up your game.
