Acer Aspire One D255 Laptop/Notebook

This is currently the Netbook that I use for both my business and personal use. It satisfies all my needs and then some. Typically I use my computers for music, email, word processing, social networking, eBay of course and management of my store here on eBay.

I bought this computer because I wanted something portable, that would allow me to grab it and go in a hurry. This computer does just that. It is extremely light weight and portable while still offering me a list of features comparable to some higher dollar Laptops.

One of the drawbacks to this computer is its RAM Memory. Typically, most affordable Netbooks come with 1GB of ram. Personally I would like to have 2GB which is what the max expandable amount is for this device model. Other then that I have no complaints what so ever about this great Netbook!

When it comes down to being an affordable computer, most Netbooks are the same. What you're really buying is the brand. Personally I wouldn't spend over $300.00 for a Netbook retail because lets face it, who wants to spend an arm and leg for something that will eventually need to be replaced. I have never before had an Acer computer and I honestly could not be happier with the brand. This computer is well built, provides great performance coupled with ease of use. Overall I would give this Netbook a 4 of 5 stars. The only thing stopping that 5th star is its Memory which is easily upgradeable.

This netbook is very special to carry it for a every place you want, it does not have to much power but perhaps to people who don´t need a power computer it´s essential to use for example to edit documents, chat, ear music, and watch some videos from internet. So you can use it waisely:
- 260 gb, hard drive
- Intel graphics gma 3150 hd
- good lcd crystal brite
- 6 cell of battery power (5 hours of activity)
- wifi
- Web cam 1.3 MP
- and the most important thing the processor 1.66 ghz of intel atom for 4 threats and one gigabyte of ram ddr3, it is fastest actually

The perfect netbook configured dual boot with Windows and Linux Zorin OS4. The best of both worlds. The netbook came with Windows XP Home installed. I installed Linux Zorin alongside Windows making it a dual boot system.

The rating is based on the manufacturer delivering on expectations. At the $200 price point, it would be difficult to expect much... but there are many pleasant surprises.
Battery on mine is about 4 hrs.
Small form factor fits my medium size hands
10x8 screen is "acceptable"
Speed/performance is a little sluggish and is the only real negative from my perspective... but given the tiny form factor it exceeds my expecations...
Is a GREAT surfing, word processing, basic spreadsheet machine.
Is NOT a production, gaming, photo-design tool.
IS ... AN OVERALL GREAT DEAL...
OH YES, the feel, fit and finish are great.

Very good for internet surfing, but not suggested for working, takes toooo long to open word/excel etc. Occasionally there's system crash, and it seems not necessarily because of overloading. Mine was down once with only two IE windows opened, but it can afford 30+ windows sometimes (no Flash, of course).
