At $400, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer has the lowest price of any Honeycomb tablet. Also, its high-quality screen and relatively cheap keyboard/dock make it an attractive option.
A few things keep the Transformer from completely blowing us away: the choppy recording and playback of the camcorder; its sharp edges; a build quality that's somewhat lacking; and problems that arise when docking.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is a low-price, quality Honeycomb tablet with useful options.

I had been looking for a Tablet for a year or two, I was looking for one with gps, and other features (in my price range) :-) I found the Asus brand was the one I always liked so I searched prices... Google found me a great deal, it showed an Asus Eee TF101 16gb w-Ice Creme Sandwich and I have a 16gb memory card so that would be perfect!
This tablet can replace game consoles, obd2 readers, thermometers, gps detectors, wifi detectors, barometer, weather stations, weather channels, music channels, just to name a few --- you name it!!! "ALL IN ONE TABLET"
Ok now the good stuff... Well theres tons of awesome apps
I have literally turned my tablet into a weather station with the apps I have. Music dj app ! Photography apps - I can take pictures faster with one app, obd 2 sensor app check your cars stats, just to name a few.
Ever since I received the tablet it has been a joy to use. If its gaming, shopping, checking email, downloading apps, etc. Always fun.
The screen is brightly colored and if your watching movies or playing games its just amazing.
The tablet includes Google maps and well its great! And after the recent update even better!!!
The battery life is very good, I do not yet know its hours I have not tested it. But its quite long.
I can have multiple web pages up and browse w/o issues
Build quility seams durable especially the screen!
I have a few games that are fun to play but I think a Bluetooth Remote might make it easier.
Ok now what I did not like
Its slightly heavy to hold after awhile other than that Nothing really.
Looking at tablets, I considered functionality quality and price. Looks also played a lesser, but important part. Being able to drop one into a docking station which converted it into a nice light laptop was a real plus in my search. Having a nice bright screen with high resolution and nice sharp blacks was a plus as well. Years ago I used to build PC’s and mostly used ASUS main boards. They were reasonably priced, easy to configure, and good quality. I trust ASUS to provide a quality product. Looking at all those black on black offerings out there, the “Espresso” color made this an attractive unit which stood out from the crowd.
One reason for buying a tablet was to gain experience with the Android operating system. With 4.X I felt that this OS was ready for me to evaluate. All I can say is WOW! It is so fast, on most applications, I am just dazzled. Naturally the hardware plays an important part in that speed. ASUS has, in my opinion, done a very good job in selecting just the right combination of hardware options to make a cost effective and powerful machine, all in a nice slim light package.
I am a bit disappointed with the sound amplification, but with the traffic battery life, I can live with it.
I bought one of these, with the docking station, for my daughter. Naturally I had to play with it a bit before I gave it to her. I kept thinking about how much I liked her Transformer, and about two weeks later bought one for myself.
I was fortunate to get a like-new tablet on eBay, but even if I had paid full price for a new one, it would have been worth it. So far (I've had this tablet since Christmas but don't use it every day), it works great and I have no complaints. I bought this tablet because I wanted a screen larger than 7" but also wanted one from which I could detach the keyboard. After reading reviews of every tablet available, I decided this one would be good quality and convenient to use. At this point, I have only good things to say. I'd buy it again.
I bought this tablet for my boyfriends' 50th birthday. He's not a computer geek by any means, after all he's 50. However, this tablet is pretty much user friendly for just about anyone. He uses this tablet like he has owned one all his life (you KNOW he hasn't). The 10.1" screen is the perfect size although he still has to wear his glasses. I think I use the tablet more than he does. I want one for myself.
Also, I really like the fact that I can afford something so nice that is a name brand. When I'm looking for an accessory I just type in exactly what it is and there it is. It isn't like typing in the brand and they have never heard of it and then you go with the closest match.
The dual cameras are awesome. You can do everything with your pictures right on the tablet. The GPS is also great. It tracks me wherever I am at and gives me an immediate weather update, like I can't tell if I'm there, right?
I bought a bluetooth keyboard/cover. Some bluetooth keyboards need to be set up each and every time the tablet is turned off and then on again. Not this one. A keyboard is an absolute must have.
At $250 refurbished, this tablet was well worth the money. It upgrades to Ice Cream Sandwich (android 4.0.x) and it runs super smooth. I've tried hundreds of apps on it already and it still runs like a champ.
It's not the best tablet out there in terms of power, but it is definitely sufficient for what it runs. Apps run smoothly, as long as they are compatible and aren't buggy themselves. It doesn't compare to Tegra 3 tablets, but a quad-core isn't needed for e-mail/light gaming. I haven't experienced frame rate issues except for the usual virus scan or update, which lags any computer anyway.
The battery life on this is much better than expected after the ICS 4.0.3 upgrade, and is still great after 4.0.4. At lowest brightness and with a battery saver app, I retain most of my charge even idle (locked screen). For light e-mailing/browser surfing, I could get 2-3 days worth of charge. I would get only 15 hours if I played games or played videos for the majority of the time. I normally charge the tablet at 20-25% charge remaining. Your mileage will vary based on app usage/wifi usage/brightness levels.
I've run into issues opening the tablet though. When it's on, there's no problems. Though sometimes it takes 5-6 tries before the tablet even turns on. It only happened after the 4.0.3 --> 4.0.4 upgrade (the update with face unlock). I don't know what the problem is, and I haven't seen anyone else with the same cause but others have similar symptoms. I just leave the tablet on all the time, and there are no problems.
Important thing to note is that there is no App to SD function anymore. So even though there is a microSD slot, you will primarily use it for storage of music, movies or pictures. Apps cannot be transferred without rooting the device (voiding warranty).
This tablet is highly recommended. At $250 or below, it is a perfectly affordable 10" tablet that runs almost everything perfectly. I've read/watched other reviews for similar spec'ed products that cost around the same, but they all have flaws that the TF101 has not presented so far. Despite the problem ran into with the battery, I highly recommend this product.
