This is a horror classic from the 80's. The original demons is a far superior movie but this one features excellent direction from lamberto bava. The son of mario bava who was one of the greatest directors of all time. This movie is alot of fun and like demons provides the viewer with plenty of good scares and lots of over the top gore that we have come to expect from most italian produced horror movies. This movies main fault is in its choice of music, which unlike the first is not classic metal but rather pop. That is a small complaint however as the movie is a alot of fun. The story is about demons overrunning a apartment complex this time and as most people in europe due to lack of space or high costs live in flats or apartments the idea becomes even more frightening on that level. THe effects are from their era for instance they use a scene of a animatrix puppet child demon that some computer animation snobs may not like. But they didn't have that option back then , so why worry about it? Just sit down and enjoy a great monster movie from a cool decade that was full of lots of horror movie diversity.
Demons 2 (dvd) is a continuation of the story of demon-possessed humans began in, of course, the Italian gore-classic -Demons. The film made, in part, by Dario Argento is a good horror movie from the 1980's. Plenty of gore and effects add to the Argento-influence visual style and makes for a solid addition to any horror fans collection. I always get a kick out of the better-made Italian horror films (Zombi, Profondo Rosso, etc) and I had good memories of watching Demons 2 on VHS years ago. Recommended viewing for any honest horror fan.
20 years ago, I remember liking this better than the first, "Demons". Having found both of them recently on eBay and watching them 20 years later, I now prefer the original. This one is fun tho to see a few actors who appeared as different characters in the first film.
I've always assumed this movie takes place in the same universe as the other, like a true sequel. The rest of the Demons series is plagued with different nsames in different countries and also with different directors, tho Bava did go on to direct others. Look into the history.
Great new wave-like soundtrack, cheesy yet quite bearable, while always keeping you on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next. Nothing is sacred.
Classic film, well worth the buy.
"They will make cemeteries their cathedrals and the cities will be your tombs."
Just like part 1 this movie doesn't hold back anything its a great horror movie and it was at a great price so thats another reason I scooped it up.
