I was BLOWN AWAY !! Best Album Ever Made !!!

This is an AMAZING album ! I thought the movie was about some silly, goofy guy with a "box of chocolates" and a Shrimp Boat-BUT boy was I wrong !!!! Just watched the movie for the first time 2 months ago & was literally BLOWN AWAY ! The movie's story is SO MUCH MORE than I thought and I was embarassed that I shunned it for so long. Watched it for the first time with my boyfriend, he hadn't seen it either (we are both in our early 50's and lived through the Vietnam era). The music in the movie is definately THE BEST movie sound track ever made, from any movie or play. The movie made us re-live that part of history again & we just HAD TO HAVE the sound track. BUT be careful you are purchasing the right c/d, as there is another one called Forrest Gump, with a green cover with him & the girl sitting in a tree-that is not the one with all the great music, it is the original motion picture score, which is just the back ground instrimental music-NOT any of the cool songs. I bought that one at first-by mistake. Be sure to get the one with the white cover. It has 2 disks in it with what seems like a jillion great songs. You'll never get tired of listening to this one. I play it almost every day.

I bought this CD a few weeks back. This CD is exactly the one that I wanted. This CD has 32 American classics from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. All of these are on 2 CDs. The best thing is that all of these songs were used in the movie Forrest Gump. My favorite song in the movie and on the CD is "It Keeps You Runnin'". This song is played when Forrest Gump is running across America. If you are fan of the music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, then you definitely need to get this CD.

Forrest Gump original soundtrack cd

When I first watched the movie I decided to purchase this soundtrack at the time, but it was several years ago. I watched the movie just recently and it reminded me about the soundtrack. The first thing that came to my mind was to search on it on Ebay, and I found it at a very good price so I decided to purchase it. This cd is greatly recommended to anyone that was raised from the 50's to the 70's it has a great mix of music from that era in two discs.

Good stuff. Good music from different eras...Joy to the World best song but Byrds and Bob Seger help it out too(CCR too). Some hard to find music here too makes it all worthwhile. I actually like the soundtrack more than I ever liked the movie.

Forrest Gump: The Soundtrack

Actually this CD was a gift for my sister. I already own a copy myself. I love the songs on this CD. It covers the 50s, 60s, 70s and has a lot of the same music I grew up with. Many of the songs are blues, rock & roll and soft rock. A lot of them are classics. Not many people would dislike this CD.
