24 is an action packed mini movie that has terroistic threat that must be dealt with by the CTU(Counter Terrorism Unit) in one 24-hour period per season; each episode is one hour in that 24-hour period. Each season has been able to become more intrigueing and exciting than the one before! Do you like sitting on the edge of your seat? Do you have want to have to remind yourself to breathe? Do you, like most Americans, need a hero? Then you will love 24!
My husband, son, and I could hardly wait for it to come out on DVD and watch every action packed episode. We became hard-core 24 Addicts after stumbling onto the show on Fox during season 4, aired in 2005. There was so much action, so much intrique, such incredible special effects, intense character development, and yes, that is what we saw in only one episode! We ran, not walked to the video rental store and began watching the series on DVD. Our family quickly developed a routine of having 24 "watching parties" every weekend to watch 8 or 12 episodes at once, with Jack Bauer the guest of honor! I never can get enough of the show's movie-scale set and exciting, intense action.
The interpersonal relationships are so thoroughly explored, all the while these unseen heros of our great nation are saving lives, the country, and the world in fresh and unpredictable ways, and often at their own personal expense. The characters will inspire you, enrage you, sadden you, and cause you to rejoice all in one episode! Watching one episode of 24 is like eating a Lay's potato chip: YOU CAN''T HAVE JUST ONE! Watching the show on DVD is the ultimate way to experience the ticking clock; the evolving and resolving of monumental terroist threat all in one 24 hour period! How amazing is that?
And as if the excitement of each episode is not enough, we even created a game at each spot in the DVD made for the commercial break whereby the show fades to the clock ticking; after a few seconds the ticking clock is shown again with a period of lapsed time; meanwhile all three of us (and any friends also present) try to guess the seconds that will be shown on the clock when the show fadse back in. Of course, we all have a 1/60 chance of guessing it correctly; and the excitement and tension of the episode seems to carry into our little game making it tremendous fun! By the way, my husband is the reigning 24 clock champ with having guessed correctly 14 times in the watching of all four seasons! Try it with your family as you watch, it really is fun!
The clock is ticking ... get your hands on the complete DVD set with special features and commentary! It's time you got excited about something, and this is it!
Like a T-shirt my husband has says: WWJD - What Would Jack Do?
Ohmigosh, is "24 - Season Four" a cliff-hanger? Is the sky blue?
I bought this DVD set so we could catch-up on some of the action preceeding "24 Season Five", which has been running on Fox-TV this year. Its not that "24" is addictive, or even our most-watched TV, but every Episode makes us cringe that it will be a whole week before we can find out how the plot thickens. This is absolutely the best show we've seen - but wait, there's more... when we own the DVDs, there are no commercials! Where they would appear, is a slight blackout to indicate the scene changes - and a chance to catch my breath.
Keifer Sutherland is extreemly photogenic, and looks great at any angle. The stunts are almost unbelieveable, but Jack Bauer has become the new James Bond. As a poster I saw reads: "If you think you know what's happening next - you don't know Jack!"
This is not a children's show - there is violence - meaning people get shot or are in other danger. But contrary to most TV, there is no sex or language issues. If there is any doubt about showing to children, I suggest previewing one Episode, or so. They're available to be rented... but then, you'd figure out it's less cost to just buy the DVD's and watch them again and again.
Am I enthusiastic? Maybe it shows. Why did I buy it at eBay? I shopped on-line retailers and video stores, but this was absolutley the best price. Yea, eBay!
Each episode of 24 is ONE hour in ONE day. A season consists of 24 HOURS, or 24 Episodes. Action is so jam packed, realistic, and edge-of-the-seat exciting, that only watching the season on DVD will do! I can't imagine waiting a week to find out what happens next, when nearly every episode leaves me breathless and wanting more!
Federal agent Jack Bauer is the exact kind of hero we need in this day and age; he's tough, moral, loyal to the core to his country and his President, and will do whatever it takes to keep the mission, and America, safe! And the things he is willing to do wil astound you; anger you; compell you; and make your proud, ALL AT ONCE.
The makers of this series take the time to fully develop their characters, and very well too. The international terroism plots make the series a hot topic, and will ave you looking at Homeland Defense in a whole other light.
Get it. Watch it. Be intrigued. Be entranced. Be informed. Be another 24 addict!
24 is a series played out in real time. That means 24 episode, one hour each, covering one day in the life of federal agent Jack Bauer. I'm warning you now to not begin the series unless you are planning on finishing it in less than a week. Watching 24 is like chain smoking, you can't turn the current episode off without starting up the next. I went to Hollywood video to return the disc I had just finished. I was standing in line to get the next disc when a couple got in line behind me with the same disc. We were talking about how we couldn't sleep at night because we were watching 24 when another customer walked in, dropped of his copy of 24 and headed straight back to the "24 section" for his next hit. I asked the clerk if anyone ever dropped off a disc without picking up the next one. She just laughed, shook her head, and said no. Anyways, the series is full of action, drama, and romance. The casting and acting is terrific. Every episode and every season outperforms the next. Buckle yourself into your sofa because you're going to be there for a while.
Hi. This is I feel the second best season of the Fox hit series 24 with Kiefer Sutherland. The day starts with a train crashing into a truck in the middle of nowhere. Jack is no longer wtih CTU, instead he works for Secretary of Defense James Heller. A couple of hours into the season, James Heller is kidnapped by terrorists and they plan to broadcast the execution of the Secretary of Defense. It ends up that the kidnapping was part of a bigger plot a MUCH bigger plot to bring the U.S to it's knees. Racing against the clock, Jack must find out what the terrorists are planning next in order to save the country.
