All quarters minted between 1932- 1964 contain 90% silver and weigh 6.25 grams. So if you melted this coin down it would be worth about $5.89 (March 2012) because of the precious metal content. Talk about inflation!! The problem is our money is not backed by silver and gold anymore, basically our money is worthless. I say this because it is printed by the Federal Reserve, which by the way is neither a Federal institution or holding reserves of anything. They print money as needed and than charge us 10% interest. The Federal Reserve has also never been audited. The Fed is above the law and outside the regulation of congress, and thus confirms it is unconstitutional by its very existence. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't actually have any gold in Fort Knox ether.

Stock up on silver and gold now.. eventually America will follow the path of the Romans and collapse after all monetary tricks to fund us fail. The Romans used stones as currency, we use paper. Wake up Sheeple.

The 1964 Washington Quarter is the last year the Washington quarter was minted with silver and probably the most affordable way to get silver when the economy is in upheaval. It also has a historical value and keeps very well in the protective case.

Surviving Post Retirement !

Looking at retirement in a few years, trying to invest in Silver a little as a Poor Man's hedge against inflation (Gold would be much better but is now completely out of reach for guys like myself). Most people today selling Silver on ebay are asking way too much for it to be of any investment value, so I'm forced to purchase single pieces like this Quarter when the price is right (I'm ALL for people trying to make a profit but many of these folks have had the items already for a long period and would make a sizable profit just selling the Silver at spot prices).

The 1964 Washington Quarter is an excellent value in the silver bullion world with usually very little premium (if any) over spot.

The last year of the 90% silver quarters. You can get these in BU condition still for relatively cheap.
