About Two and A Half Men
"Two and a Half Men," a long running sitcom starring actors Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen, has not been without its controversies. The plot of the show centers on a divorced dad, played by Jon Cryer, and his brother, played by Charlie Sheen. Jon Cryer’s character is raising his young son under the bad influence of his brother, a frequent drunk and womanizer. The hilarious comedy took a dramatic turn in reality when star Charlie Sheen was fired from the show due to drug and alcohol abuse, and replaced by young star Ashton Kutcher. The shows ratings actually rose, and the syndicated series is still successful in reruns. The show has won numerous awards including the most Emmys a sitcom has ever won in one year, and while Charlie Sheen was previously the highest paid actor on television, Ashton Kutcher stepped into his shoes in more ways than one, earning over $700,000 per episode. The show has been famous for its high number of noteworthy guest stars over the years, including Charlie Sheen’s real life father, Martin Sheen, as well as a slew of attractive actresses such as Miley Cyrus, Heather Locklear, Sara Rue, Jeri Ryan, Tricia Helfer, and Diora Baird. The show’s bawdy, raunchy humor and unexpected situations have remained a favorite of the public for many seasons, and the drama of the actor’s real lives has only served to make the show even more popular. Most recently, the young actor who plays Jon Cryer’s son, Angus T. Jones, has renounced the show due to his conversion to Christianity. You can’t write plotlines that engaging.
