Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts may be a country band, but it has managed to create a fan base that includes fans of pop and rock, too. The band’s style evokes a contemporary country sound, and is well liked by many young people (it probably didn’t hurt that the band had an appearance and a song in the "Hannah Montana" movie.) Rascal Flatts have been putting out albums since 2000, and is now considered one of the highest paid touring acts and bestselling bands in the country genre. They have had many number one hit singles, including "These Days," "Stand," and "Here Comes Goodbye." The band is made up of three members, whose voices blend together in perfect harmony. Instruments accompany the group, such as keyboards, harmonicas, and violins, adding spice to the already catchy country tunes. Rascal Flatts is also known for being a caring, philanthropic group; giving money to children’s hospitals as well as the Red Cross. Rascal Flatts is a guilty pleasure group for self-described country music haters; it’s hard to resist the beautiful voices and upbeat music of musicians Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney. Rascal Flatts gained a popular crossover hit song when it remade the classic tune "Life is a Highway" for the "Cars" movie soundtrack. The song rocketed to the top of the charts, and sold over 3 million copies in the United States, making Rascal Flatts a popular act on the country as well as the pop charts. The song was also used in the game "Lego Rock Band."
