Once nicknamed "Godzilla" for its performance in races, the Nissan Skyline is also the manufacturer's flagship car. In its fifth generation, from 1999 to 2002, the R34 engine was a 2.6-liter twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder RB26DETT. You can still find a few of these engines through the vast inventory on eBay. Manufactured by Nissan, the RB26DETT features a cast iron engine block with an aluminum cylinder head. There are 24 valves in the cylinder head and it uses a dual overhead camshaft setup. The early model year RB26DETT engines produced about 280 horsepower at 6,800 rpm. By the end of production, it was down to 276 horsepower at 6,800 rpm. However, the R34 engine torque went up from 260 foot-pounds at 4,400 RPM to 289 foot-pounds at 4,400 rpm. If you take good care of this engine, you can definitely drive it beyond 100,000 miles and maybe even get as much as 200,000 miles out of the engine before needing another swap. Make the investment in a real monster with this Nissan Skyline engine.Shop the extensive inventory of motors, parts, accessories, and complete engines for BMW!
