About LS6 Engine
Few single block engines transformed the potential of an automobile like GM's iconic LS engine line, and now you can experience the full power of a GM LS6 engine. This aluminum 5.7-liter pushrod V8 retains the same capacity of the original LS1, except it puts out a greater output, hitting a sizable 385 bhp of output and 385 lb./ft. of torque. The modified versions that come from 2002 through 2004 models have even higher power ratings, at 405 bhp output and 400 lb./ft. torque. The LS6 is very similar to the LS1, but its marked improvements – increased main web strength, new intake manifold, a camshaft with higher lift and more duration, and other updates – transformed this into the heart of the Cadillac CTS V-Series and the C5 Corvette Z06. You can recognize LS6 engines also by their casting number, 12561168, which is located at the top rear edge of the block. There are great deals out there for the complete LS6 engine, if you are looking for the original configuration with no deviations. You can also get LS6 engine covers, so you can find everything you need for your car project with the vast inventory on eBay.
