About Lamborghini Murcielago

The Lamborghini Murcielago gets its name from a famous fighting bull that survived 24 sword cuts in an 1879 fight in the bullrings of Cordoba, Spain. That bull fought so valiantly that the matador bestowed upon it the rare honor of sparing its life. In 2001, Murcielago returned to thrill and awe in the form of Lamborghini's flagship sports car. The Murcielago replaced the iconic Diablo, and Lamborghini made only 4,009 units during its 10-year production run. The early Murcielagos pack a 6.2-liter V12 engine that produces 572 horsepower. By 2004, a redesigned 6.5-liter V12 engine came to the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster. The Roadster is a powerful open top sports car with strengthened rear pillars and a new engine cover. Five years later, the Lamborghini Murcielago SV or SuperVeloce rolled in to end the reign of this marque with a big bang. The SuperVeloce carries a 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers 661 horsepower. It is also the only Murcielago to accelerate from rest to 60 mph in under three seconds.
