About 350 Chevy Engine Block

When you feel the shuddering roar of a Chevy 350 engine block's raw 295 horsepower, you know you have a piece of one of the finest motors ever made. These powerful motors appear in 1967 Camaros. Typically referred to as the L-48, this V8 is found in Corvettes from the latter half of the 1970s. If you want to find a classic 350 cubic-inch small block engine, looking through a vast inventory on eBay is a great way to find what you are looking for. The Chevy 350 engine block went through numerous other creations over the next three decades, including the L81, L98, and L05. The L31 head is a particularly powerful head that is a popular, inexpensive upgrade for those looking to amp up a much older block. The only catch with a L31 is that it uses a different intake manifold than most other Chevy engines, utilizing eight attaching bolts rather than the standard 12 total. Also referred to as the Vortec 5700, it produces a hefty 255 to 350 horsepower at 4600 RPM and 330 to 350 lb-ft. of torque at 2800 rpm. This engine's superb power ratings make it commonly found in Chevy trucks, vans, and some SUVs from the late 1990s. Its compatibility with all other previous blocks makes it highly useful if you are in need of a serious upgrade without serious costs.
